Marie-Andrée Jacob, Priyasha Saksena, and Amrita Limbu secure the Global Impact Acceleration Awards

Marie-Andrée Jacob, Priyasha Saksena, and Amrita Limbu have been awarded £11,340 by the Global Impact Acceleration Awards (GIAA) for the project ‘Making it to the Registers: Using Visual Representations to Tell Stories of Migrant Healthcare Workers’.

The Making it to the Registers team collaborates with Petroglyph Studios, a Canadian comics creation studio, to create a graphic novel, poster, and booklet to share findings from the project in accessible formats. The project also has the support of two project partners BAPIO (British Association of Physicians of Indian Origin) and ReSTORE .

BAPIO has 25 years of experience campaigning, lobbying and litigating on behalf of overseas-trained doctors and nurses from South Asia, Europe, Africa and the Caribbean. 

Founded in 2022, ReSTORE trains refugee nurses to pass English language and clinical skills tests and supports them to navigate cultural and institutional differences between their own country of registration and the UK nursing profession.
